4163rlehzll-_sx396_bo1204203200_This book collects a number of intermediary and advanced Hadoop examples and presents them in a problem/solution format. Each of the 85 techniques addresses a specific task you’ll face, like using Flume to move log files into Hadoop or using Mahout for predictive analysis. Each problem is explored step by step and, as you work through them, you’ll find yourself growing more comfortable with Hadoop and at home in the world of big data.

This hands-on book targets users who have some practical experience with Hadoop and understand the basic concepts of MapReduce and HDFS. Manning’s Hadoop in Action by Chuck Lam contains the necessary prerequisites to understand and apply the techniques covered in this book.

hadoop-logoHadoop is an open source framework for writing and running distributed applications that process large amounts of data. Distributed computing is a wide and varied field, but the key distinctions of Hadoop are that it is:

■ Accessible—Hadoop runs on large clusters of commodity machines or on cloud computing services such as Amazon’s Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2 ).

■ Robust—Because it is intended to run on commodity hardware, Hadoop is architectured with the assumption of frequent hardware malfunctions. It can gracefully handle most such failures.

■ Scalable—Hadoop scales linearly to handle larger data by adding more nodes to the cluster.

■ Simple—Hadoop allows users to quickly write efficient parallel code.

Introduction to Complex Networks: Structure and Dynamics

Ernesto Estrada

The study of complex networks has become a major topic of interdisciplinary research in the twentyfirst century. Complex systems are ubiquitous in nature and made-made systems, and because complex networks can be considered as the skeleton of complex systems they appear in a wide range of scenarios ranging from social and ecological to biological and technological systems. The concept of “complexity” may well refer to a quality of the system or to a quantitative characterisation of that system.

#1 Python

Python is a programming language that lets you work more quickly and integrate your systems more effectively. This is a widely used general-purpose, high-level programming language. Its design philosophy draw attention to code readability, and its syntax allows programmers to express concepts in fewer lines of code than would be possible in languages such as C++ or Java.Python supports multiple programming paradigms, including object-oriented, imperative and functional programming or procedural styles. It features a dynamic type system and automatic memory management and has a large and comprehensive standard library.

Hypertext Transfer Protocol version 2

http2Hypertext Transfer Protocol version 2
draft-ietf-httpbis-http2-17

Abstract

This specification describes an optimized expression of the semantics of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). HTTP/2 enables a more efficient use of network resources and a reduced perception of latency by introducing header field compression and allowing multiple concurrent exchanges on the same connection. It also introduces unsolicited push of representations from servers to clients.

This specification is an alternative to, but does not obsolete, the HTTP/1.1 message syntax. HTTP’s existing semantics remain unchanged.

Mini-Projects-on-ElectronicsNowadays, projects on electronics play an important role in the field of electronics engineering. ECE is one of the most popular branches in an engineering, and there are a number of students showing interest in ECE branch. This branch offers an immense opportunity for the electronics students. Every engineering student must complete their project work to complete their degree successfully. This article lists a latest mini projects on electronics for engineering students.

Furthermore, students can gain many options to choose their electronics projects for final year in various categories like embedded, robotics, solar, GPS, GSM, etc. These categories of electronic project circuits will give a huge opportunity for the students. To get the better concept over the projects on electronics, kindly look into the following projects with descriptions. Here you can check out the projects related to electronics project ideas.

Goals

Distributed systems often appear to be highly complex and intertwined networked systems. Touching one component often affects many others in surprising ways. In this book, we aim at explaining the basics of distributed systems by systematically taking different perspectives, and subsequently bringing these perspectives together by looking at often-applied organizations of distributed systems. The book is now in its second edition and is gradually being updated toward a next edition (expected to be completed in 2014).

Contents

  1. Introduction
  2. Architectures
  3. Processes
  4. Communication
  5. Naming
  6. Synchronization
  7. Consistency and replication
  8. Fault tolerance
  9. Security
  10. Distributed object-based systems
  11. Distributed file systems
  12. Distributed Web-based systems
